The discipline of CrossFit has a holistic fitness focus, dealing with all muscle groups and types of exercise to ensure overall fitness and conditioning. CrossFit Platinum is one of the pioneer CrossFit Affiliates in South Africa and is proud to be part of the one of the fastest growing sporting disciplines in the world.
At our gym, services include training for weight loss, body conditioning and toning, functional fitness, boxing and kickboxing, physical rehab, overall health and fitness, and sports specific training aimed at improving sports performance.

What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. The program is designed to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible.
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing, although our trainers and associates have in-depth knowledge of many sporting disciplines including martial arts, swimming, cycling, running, athletics, rugby, soccer, hockey and many more. Through our holistic exercise approach, your performance will improve not only in your chose sporting discipline, but also in your overall levels of fitness, strength and flexibility.
We define fitness as increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. What this means is that you have functional capacity in all different types of movements at a variety of durations of effort. If you are increasing this broad work capacity, you will be competent at both short bursts of activity and extended longer workouts.
CrossFit makes use of three different standards or models for evaluating and guiding fitness. Collectively, these three standards define the CrossFit view of fitness.
1. Ten general physical skills, cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
2. Performance of athletic tasks. This model suggests that a person’s fitness can be measured by their capacity to perform well at all tasks, even unfamiliar tasks, tasks combined in infinitely varying combinations.
3. Energy systems that drive all human action. The focus on Balance of metabolic pathways.
The idea is for all these operations to work together in order to optimize human performance.
